Construction: New I-90 Interchanges, Hotels and Granite City Food and Brewery Set for Construction Near Woodfield Mall
An extended-stay TownePlace Suites and a short-stay Fairfield Inn & Suites to are expected to be built next door side to each other along National Parkway near the Tilted Kilt restaurant. on Higgins Road, just southwest of Woodfield Mall. The TownePlace Suites would have 82 rooms and the Fairfield Inn & Suites would have 107 rooms -- both with addresses on National Parkway with Fairfield Inn & Suites closer to Higgins Road. Construction is hoped to start late summer.
Just west of Woodfield Mall, construction is expected to start this toward the 2015 opening of a Hampton Inn & Suites and Granite City Food and Brewery restaurant next door at 801 Plaza Drive. The Hampton Inn & Suites, with 101 rooms, will be a four-story, 64,294-square-foot building, including an indoor pool and meeting space.
A Radisson hotel is expected to break ground July 2014, replacing the earlier-approved Cambria Suites, at the southwest corner of Interstate 90 and Roselle Road. Radisson principals want to get the hotel operating before interchange upgrades along I-90 at Roselle Road and at Meacham Road.
Meacham Road Interchange Project
Two new ramps will be constructed to create access to exit westbound I-90 at Meacham Road and to enter the Interstate 90 Tollway to head westbound from Meacham Road. The project is expected to be completed sometime in 2015-2016.
Roselle Road Interchange Project
The Roselle Road project will build a full-access interchange connecting Roselle Road and the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90). The project is expected to be completed in 2016.
